In the design of the Cannon Drive dwelling, our team made a strategic decision to capture the view from almost every room. This was done by angling the building at the bedroom wing, this created a threshold bridge that gave the guest bedrooms an opportunity to experience views to the Gulf of Paria.
The building utilizes a split level to elevate all the sleeping accommodations, this gave the architecture team the opportunity to cantilever the primary bedroom suite, this element gives the property owners the feeling of a further reach towards the view.
With the intention to create 15ft high ceilings, the design utilized clerestory windows; these fenestrations offer consistent daylighting and provides an additional horizontal line on the buildings’ exterior to accentuate the linear nature of the project.
